The different colored LEDs light up automatically. There is no need for batteries to make it work. It is self-powered; the LED lights are activated by a small direct-current generator powered by the running water! The generator supplies the few volts necessary to operate the LEDs and regulate the flow, and there is another advantage – you save water.
